Lydia Nabawanuka, also popularly know as Lydia Jazmine, is Ugandan recording artist and songwriter.
Background and education
Lydia Jazmine was born in Masaka in 1991 and attended Victoria Nile School for her primary studies. After primary school, she attended Saint Mary’s School Namaliga in Kiyembe, Mukono district for her O’ Level . Lydia attended Cityland College in Mattuga, Wakiso for A’ Level. She joined Multitech Business School in Kampala where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Management in 2016.
Music career
Lydia started singing in high school at Cityland College. During the same time she was also singing in church, Passover Harvest Center and later at Watoto Church both in Kampala.
After singing churches, the young singer joined the Gertnum band where she was a vocalist for over are year. Later on, Lydia was signed by GoodLyfe as a backup singer. She also did backup vocals for Bebe Cool and Sheebah.
Lydia Jazmine’s first single was You Know which she did with Rabadaba in 2014. In 2015 she released hit single Same Way which featured Geosteady. Same Way performed so well and made the proper entrance of Lydia Jazmine into the Ugandan Music Industry.
Since 2016 Jazmine has released several hit singles including Drum, Masuuka, You and Me ()featuring Daddy Andre, Olindaki and others

In 2019 Lydia Jazmine’s song Me and You, which featured Daddy Andre won the Galaxy FMS song of the year award for 2018. You and Me top chats in 2018 and sealed her position as an urban Afro/RnB singer.
Music style
Lydia Jazmine does a mix of Afro, RnB and Dancehall. Her urban music style and fashion has proved quite popular among young Ugandans. As of February 2019, Lydia Jazmine is one of the most followed Ugandan artists on Instagram.
