When you hear the name Abryanz, the first thing in your mind is Fashion! From the young fashionista in the early 2010s to the brand with legitimate authority in the fashion industry today.
Brian Ahumuza aka Abryanz has been at the center of the Ugandan fashion journey all the time. His rise coincided with the social media boom and the dying of classic fashion icons.
We have historical names in fashion like can not be forgotten. People like Princess Elizabeth Bagaaya, Sylvia Owori, Santa Anzo, and others can not be forgotten. Also, brands like Arapapa, Zipa models and many more contributed to the industry’s growth. However, Abryanz contribution to the industry goes beyond creating or selling fashion pieces. He broke the imaginary wall that separated two worlds: fashion designers, models and fashion entrepreneurs on one side and then everybody else on the other side.
Abryanz took the Ugandan fashion industry from being a tiny very exclusive club, a niche to being an industry with hundreds of thousands of fans. He brought fashion to the people.
Had this convergence or opening of the fashion doors to everyday people hadn’t happened in the time that it happened, the industry would still be a tiny niche.
The contribution of Abryanz today is partly the reason the industry is recording historical breakthroughs on the regional and world level. We have billed fashion events billed with thousands of attendees happening, something we had never seen before.
