Eddy Kenzo has responded to the Bebe Cool List 2022 saying it benefits Bebe Cool as a person mostly. He was responding to interview questions with a local radio station about the list.
Bebe Cool started a trend of ranking the best musicians in a concluded year according to him, what he termed the Bebe Cool List. The list which he usually on the 1st of January features his best 10 musicians of the previous year.
This current list was released on 1 January 2023, ranking the best musicians and music events of 2022. It featured Bobi Wine, Jose Chameleone, and many others, including Eddy Kenzo.
Eddy Kenzo in his response to the list and where he was positioned according to Bebe Cool said he doesn’t take the list seriously. He also said the list is more important to Bebe Cool than to the artists he ranks on it. According to Eddy Kenzo, Bebe uses the list every year to gain attention himself and he is the main beneficiary of the list.
Bebe Cool and Kenzo were bitter enemies a couple of years back, especially during Kenzo’s cohabiting with Rema, who was Bebe Cool’s apprentice. However, over the years the two buried the hatchet and have had kind words for one another. Eddy Kenzo also promoted Bebe Cool’s annual Tondeka Ekiwatule Concert on 26 December 2022.
