Investigative journalist Solomon Serwanja has been released hours after he reported at Central Police Station to explain himself on cases relating to stolen government drugs.
The journalist was summoned after the government drug incident in which two other BBC journalists and Serwanja’s wife were arrested.
Police said they arrested Solomon Serwabja’s wife after they raided their home and found boxes of government branded drugs. The journalists insist the drugs were part of an investigative report that BBC and NBS TV journalists were working on about stolen government drugs.
The BBC journalists Godfrey Badebye, Kassim Mohamad and Rashid Kawesa were also detained earlier and Vivian Nakaliika Sserwanja the wife of Solomon Sserwanja were also released.
