The campaign that the Miss Uganda Foundation launched a few weeks back to power 10,000 Ugandan villages has now started.
The campaign was launched a few weeks back and it aim is to bring solar power to ten thousand homes in Uganda, starting in Mayuge.
It is championed by the current Miss Uganda/Miss World Africa 2018 Quiin Abenakyo and past Miss Uganda title holders.
The project has kicked off and in the first phase, so far 100 homes have been powered in Magamaga, Mayuge district.
Each solar power unit will coast UGX 550,000 according to Miss Uganda Foundation and their partners, Village Power.
