KCCA closed the popular cocktail bar Big Mike’s on in Kololo and its owner, veteran musician Ragga Dee is saying he is being single out.
Last week the Kampala Capital City Authority ordered the popular bar to close citing noise pollution. This followed complaints from nearby residents claiming the bar was giving them sleepless nights whenever it opened.
According to Ragga Dee, the closure of the place is caused by his competitors. The musician went a head and gave examples of bars like H2O which are on the same road and play the same loud music but were not closed.
Other bars not closed
Behind Big Mike’s, there is another popular pub, Bubbles O’Leary’s – Irish Pub, another loud place which is still operational to the time of this writing.
Big Mike’s is popular for its live band on Thursday which pulls a great crowd including locals and expatriates.
Ragga Dee has said he is going to plead with KCCA but if it fails, he will sue authority for damages and wrongful closure.
