Kataleya and Kandle have finally spilled the tea about their dramatic exit from Theron Music, the record label that put them on the map.
The dynamic duo, now rocking the name K&K Music, expressed gratitude towards Theron Music, acknowledging their role in their rise to fame. “We want to thank them for bringing us to where we are, but in work, there are always issues,” Kataleya explained. “We got into misunderstandings, and things didn’t work out.”
But hold onto your hats, because the juiciest tidbit is yet to come! Kataleya and Kandle revealed that the label, run by David Kalemera, had cameras installed in their apartment to keep tabs on them. This shocking revelation came to light thanks to Eddy Kenzo, who discovered the spy gear when he dropped by.
The fallout between the ladies and Theron Music reached a boiling point in November 2023, just three months after they dropped their sizzling Extended Play, Call It Love. This mini-album was a banger, featuring top-tier producers and artists like Nessim, Artin Pro, Eli Arkhis, Magic Washington, Fik Fameica, B2C, Yese Omani Rafiki, and Dokta Brain.
Kandle, aka Rebecca Robins Nabatuusa, and Kataleya, aka Hadiijah Namakula, first crossed paths at Kataleya’s birthday party, thanks to a mutual friend. They initially teamed up to sell clothes, but their musical journey began when Producer Ronnie on Dis One recorded a demo for them, which impressed Theron Music.
Their debut hit, Do Me, didn’t catch fire immediately but eventually became a fan favorite. Before that, they had dropped Muziba wa Love and Tonafuya, both recorded under Theron’s management.
Stay tuned, because K&K Music is just getting started!
