Jowy Landa is a Ugandan recording artist, song writer and vocalist. She rose to fame in 2019 after doing a cover of Obubadi by John Blaq which went viral.
Background and education
Jowy Landa was born Joan Namugerwa on 6 October 2001 in Zana, Kampala.
She attended Standard Nursery and Primary School for her nursery and primary school.
After primary, Jowy attended Zana Mixed Secondary School for her O and A Level.
Music career
Throught high school, Jowy Landa exhibited a unique singing talent. She could sing any song, local or foreign in proper voice and lyrics.
In 2016, she started doing serious covers for popular songs. Her YouTube videos of cover songs started gaining popularity and more people started recognizing her.
In February 2019, Jowy Landa did a cover for John Blaq’s songle title Obubadi. This cover went viral instantly and it pushed Jowy into mainstream music limelight.
In March 2019 following her viral cover, Jowy Landa was signed by Pallaso into Team Good Music / Bango Entertainment. She released her first single titled Saba Saba. It was written by Pallaso and produced by Diggy Buar.
