Da New Eagles is a Ugandan musical band formed in 2013 after the split of the old Eagles Production band. It is owned and headed by former Eagles Production member and boss Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu Lutaaya.
Da New Eagles Band Members
From the band’s formation in 2013, singer Geoffrey Lutaaya and wife Irene went on a recruiting spree looking out for young and fresh talent for their new band. They announced moths long auditions across Kampala and they received got several young talented musicians. The new members from auditions included, Bettina Namukasa, Umar Mwanje, Rachael Namiiro and others.
Split Of Eagles Production
Eagles Production had been having issues for several years before their final split in 2013. Many members complained of the band’s strict policy which never allowed members to travel without getting permission.
There were also issues of underpayment and some members where accusing Geoffrey Lutaaya of having so much power in the band. Some band members had quit even before their final split. Those who quit included Hajj Haruna Mubiru who formed his own band, Cream Production, Charles Sekyewa and others.
After meditations by all respected people in the entertainment industry failed, the band split into two, forming Da New Eagles and Golden Production.
