Awilo Longomba, the Congolese Lingala Music legend is coming back to Uganda in a live concert at Serena Hotel Kampal on 5th April 2019.
The shows was confirmed on Awilo Longomba’s various social media accounts including Instagram and Twitter where he shared the news with his followers on how he was excited to be back in Uganda. Awilo used the hashtag #AwiloLiveInKampala on Twitter and he said

The event has been organized by Cents Events and the sponsors are Serena Hotel Kampala and BBS Terefayina. Tickets cost a staggering UGX 100K for ordinary and UGX 400K for VIP while a tables for 10 will go for UGX 4M.
Awilo was born in the city Leopoldville, now called Kinshasha and grew up in a musical family with his father Vick Longomba a great musicians in those days. Awilo mastered drumming at a very young age and he did it until 1995 when he crossed over to singing.
In Uganda, Congolese music was popular in the 80s through 90s and it was called Loketo and Lingala. Awilo was a darling in Uganda and he made several shows. He also mentioned Kampala, Rasta Rob MC and CBS FM in one of songs.
