Singer Big Eye tasted the real meaning of politics in music last weekend when he was denied a chance to perform for being a NRM supporter!
This happened during a UBC event when he claims he saw the show’s organizers skipping his name several times. At one time, he claims to have heard the say “don’t bring that NRM supporter next” referring to him.
The self styled Star Boss, Big Eye is one of the musicians that have publicly confessed their support for the ruling NRM and Museveni. Other celebrity NRM supporters include Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusaasira, DJ Michael, and others. These refer to themselves as silent majority.
In his post on his social Big Eye cried foul and pointed out that other artists who chanted “People Power” were allowed to sing.
To add salt to injury, when he was finally given a chance to perform, the microphone was turned off, something he believes was intended. The star Boss says that no artist had experienced any kind of trouble with the mic and the sudden fault when he went to stage couldn’t have been a coincidence.
It should be remembered that in August 2018, Bebe Cool was also faced off stage at Lugogo after audience started throwing bottles and chanting people power. This was during Jamaican star Tarrus Riley’s show of the Swangz Avenue’s 10 years celebration.
